US President Donald Trump said on Sunday that the US Navy will begin imposing a blockade on Iran by controlling the entry and exit of ships from the Strait of Hormuz. "With immediate effect, the US Navy, the best in the world, will begin the process of enforcing a blockade on any and all ships that attempt to enter or leave the Strait of Hormuz. At some point, we will get to a let-all-in, all-out situation, but Iran didn't let that happen by simply saying, 'There may be mines somewhere that only they know about,'" Trump wrote on TrueSocial. Trump added: “This is global blackmail, and the leaders of countries, especially the United States, will never submit to blackmail. I have also instructed the Navy to search for and intercept every ship in international waters if it has paid transit fees to Iran. No party paying illegal fees will have safe passage on the high seas.” The US President continued: "We will also begin to destroy the mines that Iran planted in the strait. Any Iranian who fires at us or at peaceful ships will be completely destroyed." Trump explained: "The blockade will begin soon, and other countries will participate in it. Iran will not be allowed to profit from this illegal act of blackmail. They want money, and most importantly, they want nuclear weapons." He stressed, "We are in a state of 'full readiness,' and our military forces will eliminate what remains of Iran."
