According to an update issued by the US Embassy in Beirut, Washington kept the travel warning for Lebanon at its level without change, and stressed the continued risks of crime, terrorism, kidnapping, unrest, armed conflict, mines, and unexploded ordnance. It called on American citizens not to travel to Lebanon for any reason. The embassy called on Americans in specific areas to leave immediately, including southern Lebanon, the border with Syria, the southern suburbs and areas of southern Beirut, and refugee settlements, due to the multiple security risks there. The update warned of the possibility of missile and drone attacks in various regions of Lebanon, including Beirut. He also warned of the possibility of disruption of air traffic and access to Rafic Hariri International Airport as a result of the hostilities. He also indicated the possibility of expanding regional escalation, and spoke about the attacks by the Iranian-backed Houthis on Saudi Arabia, warning that developments may go beyond their immediate geographical scope. The embassy pointed out that the US government's ability to provide emergency services to its citizens in Lebanon is limited due to security risks. It recommended that Americans prepare emergency and departure plans that do not depend on government assistance, avoid demonstrations and gatherings, and monitor security developments continuously.
