Saudi Arabia announced on Tuesday the implementation of a qualitative military operation to neutralize vital sources used by the Houthis to fuel its war effort. The spokesman for the Saudi Ministry of Defense, Major General Turki Al-Maliki, explained that the Houthis are using civilian objects and vital resources to support their military operations, including the Al-Sabahah Central Station in Sanaa, underground fuel reserve stores, fuel tanks and docks designated for transporting and unloading it in Hodeidah, Sanaa and Dhamar. He added that using these resources to directly support the Houthi military operations deprives the Yemeni people of benefiting from them to meet their needs. Al-Maliki pointed out that these sites are used to feed the arsenal of missiles and drones that threaten Saudi Arabia and the safety of airports, ports, and commercial ships in the Red Sea. He stressed that this contributed to carrying out hostile attacks against civilians and civilian objects, and planning imminent attacks against civilian objects in Saudi Arabia and commercial ships in international waterways. He stressed that the operation focused on neutralizing the Houthi capabilities used to threaten Saudi Arabia, Yemen, the southern Red Sea and the waterways.
