The Army Command - Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement: Army units continue to carry out missions to monitor and control the Lebanese-Syrian border with the aim of preventing smuggling and preventing attempts at illegal infiltration. In this context, an army unit in the Al-Qasr-Hermel area seized about 200 kilograms of explosive materials, packed inside bags and prepared for smuggling from Syrian territory to Lebanese territory. The smugglers fled into Syrian territory. The seized items were handed over to the relevant authorities, and follow-up and coordination are underway to arrest those involved.
