French Foreign Ministry spokesman Pascal Confavro announced that France had summoned the Iranian ambassador to protest "the disinformation campaign launched by the Iranian authorities regarding the movement of high school students in France."
Confafro said that he informed the ambassador that the false materials published by official accounts of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs via the Internet are completely unacceptable, and that summoning our ambassador in Tehran on October 6 is baseless.”
Yesterday, Tuesday, Iran summoned the French ambassador, Pierre Cochard, in protest against the French authorities’ treatment of the demonstrators.
Iran accused France of "violent treatment" of the demonstrators and committing "widespread and flagrant human rights violations" during the protests that began late last month and were punctuated by unrest.
