Minister of the Interior and Municipalities, Ahmad al-Hajjar, affirmed that “the state will always be there alongside the citizens,” stressing that “the south is not well.” He said: “Therefore, all of Lebanon is not well, and the state’s absolute priority is to liberate the south and extend its authority through its own forces, including the army and security forces, until the last atom of the south’s soil.” Minister Al-Hajjar accompanied Prime Minister Dr. Nawaf Salam on a visit to the city of Nabatieh, in which the Minister of Finance Yassine Jaber and Labor Mohamed Haidar and a number of leaders of the security and civil defense services also participated, in addition to representatives and activists of the region. The tour began with a visit to the Nabatieh Gendarmerie Company in Kfarjouz, where they were briefed on the conditions of the company and the tasks of its members. Minister Al-Hajjar stressed that “strengthening the presence of the state and the security services and their spread constitute the basis for consolidating security and stability.” The delegation then moved to the municipality of Nabatieh, where a meeting was held with the mayor and city officials. Minister Hajjar said in his speech: “We are here to say that the state is with you and its absolute priority is the liberation of the south.” Then, the delegation, accompanied by the Prime Minister, moved to the site of the new Civil Defense headquarters, where the foundation stone for the building was laid, within the framework of supporting the capabilities of the Civil Defense and enhancing its readiness in the Nabatieh region and the south. The visit also included the Public Security Center in Nabatieh after the completion of its rehabilitation work, in addition to the Nabatieh Government Brigades after the restoration and rehabilitation work was carried out, in confirmation of the return of state institutions to work in the city and the strengthening of their presence in serving citizens. The tour concluded with a visit to the Imam of the city of Nabatieh, Sheikh Abdel Hussein Sadiq, at his home, where the conditions of the city and the region and the needs of its people were discussed, and the importance of cooperation and coordination was emphasized in order to enhance the steadfastness of the people of the south and the presence of the state and its institutions.
