President of the Republic General Joseph Aoun received MP Alain Aoun. Following the meeting, MP Aoun said: "Making the path led by the President of the Republic to stop the war and restore sovereignty successful requires the cooperation of all Lebanese and a response to the path of exclusive state weaponry." He added: "I call on Hezbollah to come to Baabda and open a dialogue with the President of the Republic to agree on a roadmap that activates negotiations and leads to Israel's withdrawal and the deployment of the Lebanese Army across all Lebanese territory. President Aoun also received MP Bilal Al-Hachimi, who affirmed that the Lebanese "want a present and effective state, with unified institutions and a decision that is made and implemented under the umbrella of the constitution and the law." He said, after meeting President Joseph Aoun at the Baabda Palace: "President Aoun's visit to Nabatieh and the South confirmed that the South is neither outside the state nor on its margins." He added: "I discussed with the President of the Republic the files of university degrees and pending equivalencies, full-time tenure at the Lebanese University, and the issue of approximately 3,500 professors who have gone out of service, and he expressed his interest in finding appropriate solutions." President Aoun was also briefed by Lebanon's Ambassador to Brazil, Elias Nicolas, on the development of Lebanese-Brazilian relations and the conditions of the Lebanese diaspora and people of Lebanese origin in Brazil. Aoun also received Minister of Defense Michel Menassa and Director General of Administration Major General Mohammed Al-Amin, and received from them an invitation to the cornerstone-laying ceremony for a mutual housing construction project for non-commissioned officers and enlisted personnel, scheduled to be held on Friday, September 25, 2026, in the Al-Murdashah area - Baabda.
