Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has passed away, as the Dubai Government Media Office posted on its X account: "With hearts believing in God's will and decree, the Diwan of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, mourns the late Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who passed away to the mercy of his Lord this Monday morning. The Diwan has announced official mourning and the lowering of flags in Dubai for a period of ten days starting today, Monday." His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of the UAE, mourned his brother Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, writing in a post via his X platform account: "May God have mercy on you, my brother; you have arrived before a Generous and Great Lord. You are absent from our eyes, but you are not absent from our prayers and our hearts, O Ahmed." He added: "May God dwell you in His spacious gardens, inspire us and your loved ones with patience and solace, and to God we belong and to Him we shall return."
