The Lebanese University issued a clarification regarding circulating information about the entrance exams for the faculties of Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmacy. It indicated that "it was found that there was a shortage in some data when translating a limited part of one of the three sections of the chemistry questions, specifically in analytical chemistry, from French to English. The competent committee addressed the issue in accordance with approved academic procedures, and out of keenness for the rights of all candidates, the full grade for the questions in question was awarded to all candidates, without exception or discrimination, to ensure equality among them and that none of them bears the consequence of a shortage for which they were not responsible. The results also underwent the approved review and auditing stages before being announced, and no flaw was found that would affect the integrity of the results after applying the aforementioned treatment to all candidates." The university affirmed that what happened is not related to an error in the scientific content or the scientific competence of the competent committee, but rather to a shortage that occurred during the translation process, which was addressed immediately upon verification in a way that preserves the rights of candidates and equal opportunities. At the same time, the university will take the necessary measures to enhance auditing and review mechanisms, particularly regarding the translation of exams, to limit the possibility of such cases recurring in the future. It concluded: "While the university appreciates every position or remark issued out of concern for its academic level and the rights of its students, it affirms that the handling of academic issues takes place within institutional frameworks and through competent scientific committees, in a manner that safeguards the credibility and standing of the university and the rights of all candidates."
