MP Ashraf Rifi indicated that he is receiving "repeated appeals from soldiers in the Lebanese Army, the Internal Security Forces, and other security agencies, both active and retired, regarding their inability to bear school tuition and fees for their children in public and private schools. Rifi stressed that "the soldier who protects the homeland and risks his life, and the retiree who spent his life in its service, must not be left unable to secure education for his children." He appealed to "the Prime Minister, the concerned ministers, public and private school administrations, educational bodies, and all entities capable of helping, to take urgent action to establish a clear mechanism to ease tuition and fees for the families of soldiers and retirees, and to secure the necessary grants and facilities for them." Rifi pointed out that "the dignity of the soldier and his family is part of the dignity of the state, and protecting his children's right to education is a duty that brooks no delay," affirming that he is not demanding a privilege for the military personnel, but rather a deserved right for those who have dedicated their lives to the service of Lebanon.
