President of the Republic Joseph Aoun received Prime Minister Dr. Nawaf Salam and discussed with him the general situation in the country, particularly in the South, where Israeli attacks on southern villages and towns are continuing.
President Aoun briefed Prime Minister Salam on the results of his meetings in Paris with French President Emmanuel Macron and Jordanian King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein, as well as the deliberations of the preparatory meeting for the international conference to support the Army and the Internal Security Forces. He also congratulated him on the renewed confidence granted by the Parliament to the government following the discussion sessions.
The two presidents discussed the agenda of the United Nations General Assembly meetings in New York, which begin next Tuesday, where Salam will head the Lebanese delegation, and the meeting to be held in Washington to discuss the Lebanese situation. The discussion also touched upon the Council of Ministers' continuation of the budget study.
