Minister of Interior and Municipalities Ahmed Al-Hajjar met with Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, as part of his official visit to Islamabad. During the meeting, Minister Al-Hajjar conveyed the greetings of Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, affirming Lebanon's desire to enhance bilateral cooperation with Pakistan and develop relations between the two countries in various fields, particularly the security sector, to serve common interests and enhance coordination in facing current regional challenges. Sharif welcomed Al-Hajjar, emphasizing the importance of strengthening fraternal relations between the two countries, and conveyed his warm wishes to the Lebanese leadership. Sharif condemned, in the strongest terms, the Israeli aggression against Lebanon, affirming Pakistan's steadfast solidarity with Lebanon and its people during these difficult times, and its support for its sovereignty and integrity. Attending the meeting on the Pakistani side were Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Minister of Interior and Narcotics Control Mohsin Naqvi, Minister of Housing Riaz Hussain Pirzada, and Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry. On the Lebanese side, attendees included Lebanon's Ambassador to Pakistan Abdul Aziz Issa, Director General of the Internal Security Forces Major General Raed Abdullah, Secretary of the Central Internal Security Council Brigadier General Sami Nassif, and Head of the Information Branch in the Internal Security Forces Brigadier General Mahmoud Qabarsali. At the end of the meeting, Al-Hajjar on the Lebanese side and Naqvi on the Pakistani side signed, in the presence of Sharif, a memorandum of understanding between the Lebanese Republic and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan regarding the exchange of prisoners, on behalf of the Lebanese Ministry of Justice.
