In a statement, the Beirut Coordination Committee of the Future Movement mourned the movement's official in the Burj Abi Haidar area, Abu Jamal Saadou, "who was martyred in the treacherous altercation witnessed in the Burj Abi Haidar area." It called on "all the residents of the area and our people in Beirut to exercise self-restraint, the highest degrees of responsibility and wisdom, and not to be dragged into any reactions that would increase tension and threaten the security of our people and the stability of our city," demanding that the competent security and judicial authorities "take immediate and decisive action, arrest all perpetrators and those involved, and bring them to justice, regardless of the party standing behind them or providing them with protection or cover." The coordination committee stressed that "people's blood and the security of Beirut are not subject to bargaining, and no person should be above the law or immune from accountability," calling on "our people to leave the matter to the security agencies and the judiciary, in order to preserve civil peace and prevent any attempt to drag Beirut and its people into strife."
