US President Donald Trump announced that Tehran is facing increasing economic and military pressure, expecting the war to end after the US midterm elections. In an interview with Fox News, Trump indicated that the inflation rate in Iran had reached 300 percent, pointing out that members of the military and law enforcement agencies were not receiving their salaries, saying that the Iranians were "continuing the war with difficulty and are in trouble." He added that Tehran's missile capabilities were "largely destroyed." Trump reiterated his assertion that Washington will not allow Tehran to possess a nuclear weapon, warning that its possession of this weapon would pose a threat to Israel, the Middle East, and even American cities, he said. Regarding the Strait of Hormuz, Trump said that the United States is the one that controls the waterway, not Iran, adding that American forces removed 22 boats from the Strait last night.
