Israeli Army spokesperson Ella Waweya wrote on her X account: "As part of targeting a command headquarters in the Ansar area: The Israeli army assassinates a regional commander in Hezbollah's 'Radwan Force'." She added: "During the night hours (Saturday), the Israeli army attacked a main Hezbollah command headquarters in the Ansar area of southern Lebanon in response to the operation carried out by Hezbollah against our forces operating in the security zone in accordance with the ceasefire agreement." She continued: "This command headquarters was used by Hezbollah to supervise activities in the area. As part of the attack, Ali Samir Al-Hajj Hassan, who was a sector commander in Hezbollah's 'Radwan Force', was assassinated. Along with him, a number of other operatives who worked to carry out operations against the Israeli army in the security zone were assassinated." She said: "While targeting the command headquarters, members of the family of the aforementioned operative Hassan were present with him in the military headquarters, and it is claimed that they were injured as a result of the targeting. It is emphasized that the family members were not targets of the attack. The attack was directed in a focused manner against the aforementioned operative Hassan, who was a legitimate target for the strike in accordance with the provisions of international law. The aforementioned operative used his family members as human shields and hid with them inside the military command headquarters. The Israeli army will not allow Hezbollah to strike Israeli citizens and its forces, and will continue its actions aimed at removing threats."
