Gold prices fell today, as investors sought to reap profits after its price rose to the highest level in more than two months in the previous session, following inflation data that undermined expectations of the Federal Reserve (the US Central Bank) raising interest rates in September, according to Reuters. The price of gold in spot transactions fell 0.5 percent to $4,330.37 per ounce by 0103 GMT, and US gold futures contracts for December delivery fell 0.8 percent to $4,386.80.
