The WhatsApp application has launched a new feature that allows broadcast channel moderators to automatically and privately monitor the number of views of each post, as part of an update that is being gradually rolled out to users of the Android and iOS systems.
The view statistic appears directly inside the message bubble, but it remains visible only to the channel admin and no other followers, which provides an accurate indicator of the extent of the content’s spread and audience interests, and helps in developing publishing strategies.
While the counter is currently limited to moderators, the application is working on developing a future version that will allow the number of views to be publicly displayed to the public in later updates.
