US Embassy statement: Arrangements to implement the framework agreement

The US Embassy in Beirut announced in a statement, “Following the signing of the historic framework agreement in Washington, D.C., on June 26, 2026, the Commander of the US Central Command, Admiral Brad Cooper, and the head of the Special Military Coordination Group for Lebanon, Lieutenant General Joseph Clearfield, held a meeting today with the President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, and the Army Commander, General Rudolph Heikal.”
She pointed out that "the meeting discussed the path of the next phase and the official launch of the implementation of the framework agreement, with the aim of building quickly and concretely on the momentum generated by this agreement."
The embassy explained, "This agreement establishes a realistic path out of the existing conflict, and establishes a clear and organized process aimed at restoring Lebanon's sovereignty and disarming Hezbollah."
