On Sunday night, the Qatari Ministry of Interior revealed the cause of the explosion that was heard in Doha. The ministry said in a post on the “X” platform that an internal explosion occurred in a factory in the Ras Laffan Industrial Area following a technical accident. The Qatari Interior Ministry announced that 54 people were injured in the accident, noting that the Qatari International Search and Rescue Group affiliated with the Internal Security Force had begun searches for 18 missing people.
