Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz said that Israel expects US President Donald Trump to adhere to a principle that includes the Iranian nuclear file, the missile program, and Tehran’s agents in the region. He added that Israel must ensure its ability to act independently to prevent Iran from possessing nuclear weapons, stressing at the same time that it will not withdraw from what he described as the security areas in Lebanon, Syria and the Gaza Strip. He pointed out that his country continues to work against what he described as near and distant threats, stressing the pursuit of "resolution, not settlements and concessions." He also pointed out that Israel must ensure its ability to act independently against Iran.
