Army Commander General Rudolf Heikal concluded his visit to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, which extended from 6/6/2026 to 6/9/2026, at an official invitation from his Pakistani counterpart, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Staff of the Pakistani Army and Commander of the Pakistani Defense Forces. General Haikal's visit to the army headquarters began with a ceremonial ceremony performed by a joint unit of the Pakistani land, naval and air forces. After that, General Heikal met with Field Marshal Mounir and discussed developments in the region and issues of common interest, especially security and defense issues. Field Marshal Mounir stressed the importance of historical relations between the two countries, while General Haikal praised the professionalism of the Pakistani army, its role in enhancing regional security and stability, and its efforts to maintain international peace. This was followed by an expanded meeting that included Field Marshal Mounir, General Heikal, and officers from both sides, and ways to enhance cooperation between the two armies were presented, especially in the areas of training, in addition to supporting the army in light of the current challenges. The Army Commander also visited a number of military companies and factories, where he was briefed on defense innovation technologies and industrial capabilities that are being worked on, in addition to areas of common interest and future cooperation opportunities.
