On Monday, Israel announced launching attacks against military targets in Iran, hours after Tehran fired missiles towards Israeli territory. The Israeli army said, "The Air Force bombed military targets belonging to the Iranian regime in western and central Iran." The army added: “The Air Force attacked military targets in Iran under the guidance of the Military Intelligence Authority.” For its part, Iranian television announced that explosions occurred in Tehran, Tabriz and Isfahan. The Iranian Mehr Agency reported that at least two powerful explosions were heard in Tehran. The Iranian Tasnim Agency also reported that explosions occurred in the vicinity of the Iranian city of Karaj. Earlier, Israeli Channel 12 revealed, on Monday, that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu agreed to US President Donald Trump's request to wait before responding to the Iranian missile attack. Channel 12 explained that Trump asked Netanyahu, during a phone call, not to respond to the Iranian missile attack and to give negotiations on an agreement with Iran a few additional days to continue, according to a high-ranking American official and an Israeli source familiar with the conversation. The American official said that Trump informed Netanyahu that they were close to reaching an agreement, and asked him to give him a few additional days to allow the negotiations to continue and not interfere in them. He added that Netanyahu tried to persuade Trump to change his position, and expressed reservations about the request, but in the end he "somewhat agreed to the president's request."
