The head of the Lebanese Democratic Party, Talal Arslan, wrote through his account on the “X” platform: “The condemned targeting of Brigadier General Wissam Sabra and his two companions in the Lebanese army constitutes a serious attack on the military institution and its national role, and reaffirms that Israel is still practicing the policy of escalation and assault on Lebanese sovereignty, at a time when the army is making exceptional efforts to maintain security and stability and carry out the tasks assigned to it at this delicate stage that Lebanon is going through.” Arslan added: “As we pay tribute to the martyrs of the military establishment, we affirm our full confidence in the leadership of the Lebanese Army and in the wisdom and responsibility with which it is managing this sensitive stage, and we value the great sacrifices made by the officers and soldiers in defense of the homeland, its unity and security, far from any accounts or considerations other than the highest national interest. May God have mercy on the martyrs and my deepest condolences to the army leadership, their families and the Lebanese in general.”
