The Israeli army spokesperson announced that the forces of the 36th Division have begun in recent days implementing focused ground activity toward an additional target in southern Lebanon in order to expand the scope of the forward defense zone. He pointed out that alongside forces from the 91st Division and following up on its previous mission, the forces are continuing efforts to consolidate the forward defense zone with the aim of removing threats and creating an additional security layer for the residents of the north. He added: Prior to the forces' entry, the defense army launched strikes using artillery forces and air force planes targeting numerous terrorist targets in the area. He concluded: The defense army will continue to work forcefully against Hezbollah, which decided to join the battle and operate under the auspices of the Iranian terror regime, and will not allow any harm to come to the citizens of the State of Israel.
