Hassan Ezz El-Din: The decision to republish the film threatens civil peace and reveals the politicization of the judiciary
Fady Mahouly
Member of the Administration and Justice Committee, Representative Hassan Ezz El-Din, made the following statement:
The TV channel’s sedition was asleep due to a judicial decision before it was awakened again by the discriminatory decision of the Public Prosecutor to allow the re-publication of its film insulting national and religious symbols. The decision to reawaken it carries great risks for the judiciary itself due to double standards, blatant politicization, and transgression of the concept of the state’s supreme interest in protecting civil peace and the stability of the country’s security. This judiciary was placed on the scale of an authority that does not give weight to justice, the law, the constitution, and the Charter, and its practices have become a threat to civil peace. Coexistence is an authority that uses the judiciary against a large portion of its people, exacerbates divisions and pushes the country to dire consequences.
He said that whoever believes that this behavior intimidates our people or makes them silent about their rights is delusional, has not learned from those who came before him, and does not know Lebanon.
He stressed that this people's preoccupation with confronting the Zionist aggression and its crimes will not make them allow their rights to be infringed at home.
