The President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, received at Baabda Palace the Prime Minister, Dr. Nawaf Salam, where the current situation was reviewed in light of recent developments. The discussion dealt with the negotiations that began at the US State Department between the Lebanese, American, and Israeli delegations, in light of the directives given to the Lebanese delegation during preparations for the start of these negotiations, and the two presidents agreed to keep pace with them through constant communication. Presidents Aoun and Salam also agreed to hold a cabinet session next week. During the meeting, President Salam informed the President of the Republic of the results of his recent visit to Syria at the head of a ministerial delegation, and the conversations he held with Syrian President Ahmed Al-Sharaa, in addition to the meetings that the Lebanese ministers held with their Syrian counterparts. He pointed out that the atmosphere was positive, and it was agreed to enhance cooperation between the two countries in various fields, with the ministers from both sides continuing to communicate to follow up on the implementation of the topics discussed.
