The President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, condemned the martyrdom of two members of the Civil Defense today as a result of the continuing Israeli attacks on Lebanese territory, despite the announcement of a ceasefire. Aoun considered that targeting workers in humanitarian and relief missions constitutes a flagrant violation of international laws and all humanitarian principles. He offered his deepest condolences from the families of the two martyrs and from the Civil Defense Service, praising the sacrifices made by its members in order to protect citizens and save lives in the most difficult circumstances. The President of the Republic stressed that the continuation of the Israeli attacks undermines the efforts made to consolidate the truce, and that he will not hesitate to work with the relevant international bodies in order to stop the repeated violations and secure the complete Israeli withdrawal from the occupied Lebanese territories. President Aoun stressed his determination to continue contacts and diplomatic movements with brotherly and friendly countries and the international community, with the aim of protecting Lebanese sovereignty and ensuring the security and stability of the Lebanese people.
