This afternoon, the President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, made a telephone call to the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and discussed with him the current situation in Lebanon and the region in light of recent developments, and assured him of the solidarity of the people of Lebanon with the brotherly people of the UAE in these delicate circumstances that the region is going through. The President of the Republic, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, was briefed on the latest developments related to the course of the Lebanese-American-Israeli meetings taking place in Washington. The President of the UAE thanked President Aoun for his affection, stressing that the UAE will always stand by Lebanon and its people, especially at the current delicate stage, and its support for the steps that Lebanon is taking in order to achieve security and stability in it and restore its sovereignty over its entire territory.
