He pointed out that the security forces carried out arrests on multiple grounds, including transporting weapons, moving around without identification papers, in addition to violations related to cars and motorcycles. كما أعلن أن القوى الأمنية أوقفت عددًا من مطلقي النار في الضاحية، وأن الملاحقة ستستمر بحق جميع المتورطين، مع التشدد في الإجراءات الأمنية. He pointed out that the circumstances the country is going through require strengthening security efforts, stressing the intensification of fixed and mobile checkpoints in Beirut. He said that the country had entered a new path, adding that implementing the decision to extend state control over Beirut would take weeks and months, and that there was “no retreat” from this trend, reiterating the restriction of weapons to the state. He reminded that what is required is a complete Israeli withdrawal from Lebanese territory, considering that the negotiations have not begun yet, and that the meetings in Washington are preliminary and aim to prepare for them. وأبدى سعيه لوقف كامل لإطلاق النار والالتزام به من إسرائيل، موضحًا أن بيان وزارة الخارجية الأميركية يعكس ما عبّر عنه كل طرف خلال الاجتماع. إلى ذلك، رأى سلام أن الوضع حاليًا أفضل بنسبة 90% مما كان عليه قبل عام، داعيًا الجميع إلى الخضوع للقانون وقرارات مجلس الوزراء.
