The Lebanese General Security Service arrested the former Palestinian ambassador to Beirut, Ashraf Dabour, at dawn on Wednesday at Rafic Hariri International Airport, in implementation of an arrest warrant in absentia circulated through Interpol on charges related to financial corruption. The arrest came after a decision issued by Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas last July to relieve Dabour of his duties as deputy general supervisor of the Lebanese arena. According to data, Dabour is being prosecuted before the Palestinian judiciary on charges of corruption, illicit gain, money laundering, and breach of trust. An arrest warrant was also issued against him in absentia, which was circulated through Interpol, while his name was included in the Red Notice on December 2nd.
