On the 111th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, President Joseph Aoun said: “We remember with deep pain the victims of this human tragedy, and we recall the meanings of steadfastness and adherence to identity.” He pointed out that "Lebanon represented a safe haven for Armenians who found a second homeland in it, contributed to its construction and prosperity, and became an integral part of its national fabric and its rich pluralism." He pointed out that “commemorating this anniversary constitutes an occasion to emphasize the importance of preserving collective memory, promoting the values ​​of justice and human dignity, and working for a future of peace and mutual respect among peoples.” The Lebanese President affirmed Lebanon’s adherence to its message as a land of freedom and diversity, and his belief that adherence to memory is an essential pillar in working to prevent the recurrence of tragedies.”
