Minister of Energy and Water, Joe Al-Sadi, confirmed that the map published by the Israeli army, which shows what it called the “advanced maritime defense zone” extending from the Lebanese coast to the sea, does not affect the maritime borders agreed upon between the two sides in the year 2022. He added to Reuters: “From a legal point of view, the map does not change any of the facts established by the maritime border demarcation agreement. The agreement is still valid and there is no change.”
