The areas of southern Lebanon witnessed, at dawn on Thursday, violent clashes following an Israeli force’s attempt to advance from the town of Khiam towards the Wadi Marjayoun road to Tal Dibin, according to what field sources reported.
The sources explained that clashes broke out between the advancing force and Hezbollah members, before ending with the Israeli force retreating at around 2:30 am, under heavy fire cover from helicopters and drones.
The advance attempt was preceded by a series of strikes, which included 11 air strikes and more than 30 artillery shells, in addition to the use of smoke bombs that targeted the area at approximately 8:30 p.m.
On the other hand, Hezbollah announced in a statement that it confronted an Israeli force that attempted to advance from the direction of the town of Taybeh towards the Al-Khazzan area in the town of Qantara.
The statement added: "Starting at 05:30, the Mujahideen engaged in gun battles with the enemy force, targeting it with guided weapons, which led to the destruction of four tanks and two troop carriers," noting that the clashes continued until the moment the statement was issued.
