The World Food Program announced today, Friday, that Lebanon is facing a severe food security crisis, as a result of the disruption of supplies of goods due to the war. “What we are witnessing is not just a displacement crisis, but is quickly moving toward a food security crisis,” said the program’s director in Lebanon, Alison Ohman, during a video intervention from Beirut. She warned that the continued rise in food prices led to a decline in purchasing power, in light of the increased demand from displaced families.
