The President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, received, this afternoon at Baabda Palace, the French Ambassador to Lebanon, Hervé Magro, who explained after the meeting that he offered President Aoun his condolences for the victims who fell in the Israeli attacks, especially those that targeted residential neighborhoods last Wednesday afternoon in Beirut, the suburbs, the Mountain, the Bekaa, and the South, reiterating his country’s condemnation of this dangerous escalation. Ambassador Magro indicated that he discussed with the President of the Republic the recent developments in light of the positions issued regarding the possibility of launching direct negotiations between Lebanon and Israel to stop hostilities and restore stability to the region.
