The President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, received a phone call from French President Emmanuel Macron, during which he offered his condolences to the victims of the Israeli attacks that targeted neighborhoods in the capital, Beirut, and its suburbs, in addition to the mountains, the south, and the Bekaa regions, expressing France’s solidarity, leadership and people, with Lebanon in these difficult circumstances. The two presidents discussed the latest regional developments, especially in light of the announcement of the ceasefire agreement between the United States of America and Iran, and the start of negotiations between them next Friday. Macron expressed his willingness to make the necessary contacts with the aim of expanding the scope of the ceasefire agreement to include Lebanon as well, which would contribute to putting an end to the ongoing Israeli attacks. For his part, President Aoun thanked his French counterpart for his positions in support of Lebanon and its people, and for the assistance that France provided to alleviate the suffering of the Lebanese who were forced to forcibly flee their towns and villages.
