President Joseph Aoun pointed out that “these barbaric attacks, which do not know the truth and do not respect any agreements or pledges, have repeatedly demonstrated their disregard for all international laws and norms. We have witnessed, over the fifteen months of the cessation of hostilities agreement, the extent of the violations and breaches that were committed without any deterrence.” Today, the Israelis are once again intensifying their aggression, committing a new massacre to add to their black record, in a blatant defiance of all human values, and ignoring all efforts aimed at calm and stability. This dangerous escalation holds the Israelis fully responsible for its repercussions, and we affirm that the continuation of these aggressive policies will only lead to more tension and instability, at a time when everyone is most in need of calm and respecting commitments. While we condemn this crime in the strongest terms, we stress the need for the international community to assume its responsibilities to stop these repeated attacks and put an end to this aggressive approach that threatens security and stability in the region.”
