President Joseph Aoun welcomed the decision of US President Donald Trump to cancel presidential decisions imposing restrictions on air transport with Lebanon. I consider that this decision constitutes an indication of confidence in the measures taken by the Lebanese state to ensure the safety of civil aviation and protect air traffic to and from Beirut. President Aoun thanked President Trump for his decision and the executive measures that will be taken after his response during their meeting at the White House last July. He stressed that Lebanon attaches the utmost importance to the safety of civil aviation, the security of Rafic Hariri International Airport, and air traffic, noting that it will continue to take the necessary measures in accordance with approved international standards, in a way that preserves the safety of travelers and enhances confidence in Lebanon and its institutions. President Aoun expressed his hope that the American step would contribute to enhancing air traffic and facilitating communication between Lebanon and the world, and that it would constitute a gateway to further cooperation between Lebanon and the United States of America in various fields.
