On Tuesday, US Central Command denied reports that a US Navy helicopter crashed in the Red Sea. She said in a statement, “The Iranian official media promoted false reports claiming that a US Navy MH-60R helicopter crashed in the Red Sea, after declaring a state of emergency last night.” Centcom confirmed that "all American aircraft and military personnel in the Middle East region are safe and stationed at their locations." Yesterday evening, Monday, flight tracking systems reported that they had registered an emergency over the waters of the Red Sea, as a US Navy helicopter broadcast a distress symbol before disappearing from radar screens off the coast of the Saudi city of Yanbu. Iranian media reported this story, and Fars Agency indicated that radar information showed “the displayed altitude of this American helicopter at zero above sea level, which increases the possibility of it crashing.”
