The Ministry of Public Works and Transport continues to carry out maintenance and rehabilitation work on the road adjacent to the Qaraoun Dam, which connects the Mashghara area to the rest of the towns in the Western Bekaa, in order to address the damage caused to it as a result of the Israeli attacks during the recent war on Lebanon. Within the framework of following up on the progress of the works, the Regional Director of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport in the Bekaa, Engineer Walid Al-Hajjar, accompanied by a number of the Ministry’s employees, conducted a field inspection of the sites of damage and works, where he inspected the executed works and followed the stages of implementation and the extent of their adherence to the principles and technical specifications, in the presence and participation of the engineers of the National Litani River Authority. The Ministry is implementing these works through the contractor, Al-Raed Engineering and Contracting Corporation, with the aim of rehabilitating the road and ensuring public safety conditions and the smooth flow of traffic, especially in the sector adjacent to the Qaraoun Dam. The works include constructing water bridges under the road, implementing support walls and backfill works, in addition to re-paving the damaged sections, which contributes to restoring the road to a safe and sound condition and ensuring the continuity of traffic between Mashghara and the towns of the Western Bekaa.
