Israeli Channel 12 said on Saturday that the Israeli army assassinated Ali Al-Amoudi, deputy head of the Hamas political bureau.
The channel reported that Al-Amoudi led the deception plan followed by Hamas, which stipulates that the movement “give up its weapons,” and that he is also responsible for transferring Hamas’ civilian governance apparatus to the “Technocratic Committee” of the Peace Council headed by Nikolai Mladenov.
A source indicated that Al-Amoudi is considered the "strongest man" in Hamas in the Gaza Strip. He was released in the Shalit deal. He was a senior official in Yahya Sinwar's office. He also served as head of the movement's media system. After Sinwar's assassination, he effectively assumed leadership of Hamas in the Strip. He was responsible for the movement's political system in Gaza, and his influence also extended to the military system.
