The city of Nabatieh is preparing to receive Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, tomorrow, Friday, on an inspection visit during which he will be accompanied by Interior Minister Ahmad al-Hajjar, which will include a number of security and administrative centers, and a meeting in the municipality that will include a speech, in addition to laying the foundation stone for the new Civil Defense headquarters. The visit comes at a time when the city is working to restore the services of state institutions, coinciding with the continued security concerns resulting from Israeli raids and bombing on neighboring towns. This will be Salam’s third visit to Nabatieh and its region during the current year, after two visits in February and May, and the fourth since February 2025. According to the media arrangements distributed for the visit, the program includes the following stations: Visiting the Nabatieh Gendarmerie in Kfarjouz. A meeting in the municipality of Nabatieh, including a speech by the Prime Minister. Laying the foundation stone for the new Civil Defense headquarters. Visit the Public Security Center in Nabatieh. Visit the State Security headquarters and the Government Palace. Visiting the imam of the city of Nabatieh at his home. The organizers called on the media to adhere to the instructions of the security services and the places designated for them, and to cooperate to ensure respect for the visit schedule, and to avoid delaying the transfer due to side statements or interviews. Lebanon TV is responsible for providing transportation and media coverage of the meeting in the municipality of Nabatieh, and is also covering the visit of the imam of the city at his home. The arrangements made it clear that it was impossible for other media outlets to enter these two stations due to space constraints and concern for proper workflow. Also, media organizations were asked to choose the stations they wished to cover in advance, given the time constraints and intensity of the program. On the ground, the Nabatieh Saray is witnessing cleaning, maintenance and repair work on some doors, installing glass and painting corridors, in addition to asphalt around the building, according to the National News Agency report prepared by Samer Wehbe. Preparations included restoring and equipping the State Security Center, and rehabilitating the office of the acting governor of Nabatieh, Mansour Daou, while other offices are still damaged. The municipality raised banners welcoming the Prime Minister and the accompanying ministers in the public square and around the Grand Serail. The visit coincides with a number of official departments and departments resuming their work in Nabatieh, including the Muhtasibiya, Civil Organization, the Vocational and Technical Education Department, and other service departments and services, in addition to the return of security centers. On the other hand, procedures for the return of some departments are still ongoing, while employees are working in centers outside the city, which imposes additional burdens on citizens to complete their transactions. Aspirations also include consideration of the circumstances of displaced employees whose homes have been damaged or destroyed, and who face rental and transportation costs. They are awaiting working hours and transportation arrangements that take into account their conditions, in parallel with the completion of opening the departments and restoring services to the city.
