Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz announced on Wednesday that an accident on board a Flydubai plane was an attempted attack aimed at destroying the plane and those on board. He pointed out that a number of Israeli passengers entered the cockpit and took control of the attacker, and helped return control of the plane to another crew of pilots who was on board, according to his account. Katz described the incident as an “attempted jihadist attack,” without his statements including details about the identity of the attacker.
