Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri considered that there is still time to avoid committing the sin of not renewing the UNIFIL forces operating in southern Lebanon.
During his meeting with US Congressmen Darin Lahoud and Josh Gottheimer, Deputy Prime Minister Tariq Mitri, and a British military delegation headed by Major General Charlie Collins, Berri affirmed that the US administration and President Trump are the only ones capable of exerting pressure to compel Israel to stop its war on Lebanon.
He pointed out that the main obstacle to implementing the agreement to stop the war on Lebanon is Israel’s failure to adhere to the obligations of all the agreements concluded to end it.
Berri stressed that Lebanon's right to prosecute Israel for its crimes is a sovereign right that cannot be waived in any way.
