The head of the Federation of Trade Unions and Employees in the North, Shadi, announced that the sit-in in Al-Tal Square is a warning, in protest against high prices, demanding that support be paid to public drivers immediately and on a monthly basis. Al-Sayed stressed the necessity of supporting workers in the public and private sectors, and approving a transportation allowance and end-of-service compensation. He pointed out that the Minister of Labor promised to discuss these demands during an upcoming meeting next week, bringing together the Index Committee, the General Labor Union, and economic bodies, stressing that if the demands are not met by Wednesday, the protesters will resort to escalation and take to the streets. Al-Sayed confirmed that the strike will continue until Wednesday, unless they give us what we want, otherwise we will go down and block the roads.”
