"As part of the efforts exerted by the General Directorate of General Security to facilitate the procedures of Lebanese residents abroad, the Director General of General Security headed a technical delegation to the United States of America, where the Directorate equipped the Lebanese Embassy in Washington and the General Consulate in Detroit with the necessary systems and equipment to receive applications for Lebanese biometric passports, and trained the concerned employees on their use. Starting from 21/09/2026, the General Directorate of General Security has begun receiving biometric passport applications for Lebanese residents in the United States of America, without the need for them to travel to Lebanon."
