The semi-official Fars News Agency, citing Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, reported that Iran will not open the Strait of Hormuz until its conditions are met and US commitments are fulfilled. Qalibaf stressed that Iran must fight and negotiate at the same time, pointing out that Tehran will use military force to deter its enemies and diplomacy to consolidate its gains on the battlefield when the appropriate time comes.
