The Public Administration Employees Association issued a statement saying: "The government has presented us with decisions that, to say the least, disregard the dignity and intelligence of workers in public administration under all titles. What is being talked about regarding 3 times [the base salary] in early 2027 and 3 times in August is effectively an increase of 3 times the base salary over what the employee currently receives with retroactive effect, which is equivalent to only 5% of the dollar value of the salary before the crisis." added the statement: "The disregard became crystal clear with the government's ignoring of the demand to raise the daily transportation allowance, as if it wants to give increases just to cover the large cost difference for daily attendance at work, while other sectors benefit from a real increase, as if the administration employee is merely a machine that must be fueled with raw materials to continue working without any human dignity for him." And the Public Administration Employees Association affirmed that there is no backtracking on its core demands, pointing out that "the immediate demand that tolerates no delay is raising the daily transportation allowance to the equivalent of 10 liters [of gasoline], especially since the issue of linking transportation to fuel prices is a practice already applied in the education sector and is not a new invention, in addition to determining the fuel allowance according to the real price of a canister of gasoline." It asked: "Is it reasonable for any government in the world to ask an employee to come to work without the bare minimum of logistical requirements, and then force them to bear greater financial burdens? Is this activating the administration or pushing the employee forcibly toward disruption? And the insulting part is that this increase starts on 1/1/2027, meaning the employee will bear the burdens, one on top of the other, during the remaining months of this year." And the statement said: "Accordingly, while confirming the forced cessation of work on Friday of every week, the Public Administration Employees Association announces a strike on Wednesday and Thursday the 23rd and 24th of this month. In the event that the government does not respond to the demand to raise the transportation allowance, the association will increase the days of forced weekly cessation, as an employee's dignity cannot be a stepping stone for anyone."
