The Presidency of the Council of Ministers issued the following statement: "Based on the directives of the Prime Minister: Dropping the decision to regulate the installation of solar panels and referring the matter to the Electricity Sector Regulatory Commission Based on the directives of Prime Minister Nawaf Salam at the beginning of the Cabinet session, the matter of the mechanism and conditions for installing solar panels with a production capacity of less than 1.5 megawatts has been referred to the Electricity Sector Regulatory Commission to take appropriate decisions in accordance with its powers, after consulting the Ministry of Environment and the concerned departments and institutions, pursuant to Article 26 of Law No. 462/2002 and its amendments. Accordingly, the grounds for issuing joint decision No. 1234 dated 9/9/2026 cease to exist, and it is dropped."
