Member of the Foreign Affairs Committee in the Lebanese Parliament, Representative Ali Ammar, responded to the statement of the US Embassy in Beirut, saying: Day after day, the blatant interference of the United States of America in Lebanese affairs increases, and it blatantly violates its sovereignty, whether through the statements of its embassy in Beirut or the provocative statements of its ambassador, as if there is someone who has appointed himself as guardian of Lebanon, imposing conditions and paths on it, classifying its people and its political forces, and determining its options and directions, and all of this in front of the authority and those claiming sovereignty who turn a deaf ear and resort to complete silence in the face of this insolent interference. And scandalous. Ammar pointed out that what the Lebanese want is for the United States of America to stop harming Lebanon, to stop interfering in its affairs and imposing guardianship over its decisions, to stop covering the crimes of the Israeli enemy against the Lebanese, to stop supporting it, and to oblige it to stop its aggression and end its occupation of the land of Lebanon. The Lebanese people are capable of self-determination, and determine their paths and choices through dialogue between all their components and forces, and do not accept that conditions be dictated to them and papers, paths, and frameworks imposed on them from abroad. He stressed that the Lebanese, including Hezbollah, want a strong and capable state that carries out its duties to protect its land, sovereignty, and people, a state that is independent in its decision, strong in its army, people, and national unity, not a state whose options the United States of America draws, determines what it is entitled to and what it is not entitled to, and does not turn into a tool to implement its plans and projects that harm Lebanon’s interest and unity and only serve the Zionist enemy.
